Sabres defenseman faces discipline from NHL for interference against Penguins forward Jake Guentzel

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for interference against Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel.

The incident occurred at 8:46 of the first period of the game at KeyBank Center. Ristolainen received a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct. Guentzel did not return to the game.
The Penguins defeated the Sabres 3-1.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: interference. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
