EDMONTON-- Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid each scored in the shootout before Phil Kessel gave the Pittsburgh Penguins a 3-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Friday.
McDavid scored to tie the game 2-2 with 7:15 left in the third period and had a breakaway stopped by Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in overtime before keeping the shootout alive after Crosby scored.
"It is different; to say it's a normal game would be lying," McDavid said of playing against Crosby. "Obviously, he's someone I've looked up to my whole life. To play against him is fun. It was probably to my advantage, it's easier for me to get up to play against him than it is for him to get up to play against me."
