Domi scores the OT winner in Blackhawks 4-3 win

CHICAGO -- Max Domi scored 1:04 into overtime, and the Chicago Blackhawks recovered for a 4-3 win against the Calgary Flames at United Center on Sunday.

Domi received a pass from Lukas Reichel, cut back across the crease and finished with a backhand.
"That was a great game," Domi said. "First period, we kind of took it to them. Second period, we fell off a little bit, but [goalie Alex] Stalock was unbelievable once again. We found ways to be pretty good overall in our own zone when we had to be, and then gave ourselves a chance to win in the third. And then overtime, anything can happen, so it was a fun one tonight for sure."
Reichel scored his first NHL goal and had two assists for the Blackhawks (10-25-4), who have won two straight for the first time since a four-game winning streak from Oct. 15-25. Stalock made 44 saves.
"Yeah, it was a dream come true," Reichel said. "First NHL goal is a pretty special moment for me, and I want to keep buzzing. That's it."

Elias Lindholm had a goal and an assist for the Flames (19-14-8), who are 3-1-1 in their past five games. Jacob Markstrom allowed three goals on 11 shots before being replaced by Dan Vladar, who made 13 saves.
"Should win," Calgary coach Darryl Sutter said. "Take one penalty, score two power-play goals, and only give up a handful of shots. Should win the game.
"We got to take the point. We didn't skate (on Saturday) because the Harlem Globetrotters were playing in our building. We had to travel. We couldn't skate this morning because it's a 6 o'clock game. We better be thankful that we got a point because a lot of our young players didn't show up. Lack of preparation. You've got to take them by the hand, some of these guys."
Reichel, who was playing in his third game this season and 14th in the NHL, gave Chicago a 1-0 lead at 2:39 of the first period. He put his stick between his legs and scored on his own rebound after redirecting Seth Jones' point shot.
Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson said Reichel may have earned an extended look after being recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.
"I think the idea of bringing him up now is probably he earned a spot," Richardson said. "It's not just a flash, you know, coming up for a game or two. I think it's just to give him an extended time to see if he can sustain what he's doing right now. I'm sure he's driven to do that. We haven't really talked about it.
"We got a few days now. We have [Monday] off, and we got a couple days of good practice, and we can show some video and all the good things we've done over the last few games, and he's part of that, so we expect him to be here."

CGY@CHI: Reichel picks up the rebound and scores

Lindholm tied it 1-1 at 8:49, tapping a rebound into an open net on a power play.
"I think overall we've got to execute better," Lindholm said. "We had a lot of chances, just got to not let them hang around for that long and bear down and get a couple goals. We should get the win, but that's the way it goes. Overall, there are things we can do better. We left [Markstrom] out there. There are a lot of things that aren't great, but still I think we did a lot of good things. Overall, it's tough."
Colin Blackwell put the Blackhawks back in front 2-1 at 10:10, scoring on the rebound of Sam Lafferty's initial shot for his first goal of the season.
Philipp Kurashev scored 35 seconds into the second period to extend the lead to 3-1, finishing off a 2-on-1 with Reichel.
Jonathan Huberdeau responded 27 seconds later to cut it to 3-2, scoring from the left hash marks after Milan Lucic pushed him the puck off a face-off.
Nazem Kadri then tied it 3-3 at 9:40, scoring from the low slot on a power play after he whiffed on his initial chance.
"Obviously, their goaltender had a great performance," Kadri said. "Just not good enough from the get-go. That put us behind the eight ball a little bit. We had opportunities to win the game and just couldn't cash in."
NOTE: Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane missed his second straight game because of a lower-body injury. Richardson said Kane could return against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
