Bennett went with a similar mustache earlier in the 2018-19 season and decided to bring it back for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
He may be the latest mustachioed Flames forward, but Lanny McDonald did it first, most notably when he was co-captain of the Stanley Cup champion Flames in 1989.
"I think it looks great," McDonald told the Flames website back in January. "This is a helluva a starter kit he has going here."
Bennett stopped short of calling his facial hair an homage to McDonald but loves the look.
"I definitely know he noticed it earlier [this season] and said some good things, so that was definitely pretty cool," Bennett told the Calgary Sun. "I like it. The fans like it, so I'm going to roll with it."
With a 'stache like this, who needs a playoff beard?
