Monahan, a center who will turn 22 on Oct. 12, and Gaudreau, a wing who will be 23 on Aug. 13, have combined for 112 goals and 267 points as linemates over the past two seasons.
Center Mark Scheifele, 23, of the Winnipeg Jets signed an eight-year contract worth $6.1 million annually, and forward Filip Forsberg of the Nashville Predators signed a six-year contract worth $6 million per season, as a restricted free agent this offseason. Forsberg turns 22 on Aug. 13.
"July 1 (the start of NHL free agency) was probably the last time I saw everyone," Treliving said. "We're poking around and trying to see if there's ways to make ourselves better. But there's nothing imminent right now (with Monahan or Gaudreau).
