The Montreal Canadiens had a special guest at Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Friday.
Canadiens CEO Geoff Molson made the surprise call to Anderson Whitehead, the young man goalie Carey Price befriended at a practice two years ago after learning his mother, Laura, died from breast cancer.
Anderson Whitehead lost his mother to Breast Cancer in 2018. Since then, him, Carey Price (@CP0031) and the @CanadiensMTL have formed a special bond.
Price has kept an ongoing friendship with Whitehead, who he hosted at the 2020 NHL All Star Game in St. Louis after making the announcement at the 2019 NHL Awards in Las Vegas . When Molson broke the news to Whitehead, his face lit up. After the call ended, Whitehead couldn't hold it in, picking up his hockey stick and shouting "I'm going to Game 3 baby!"
