Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron assisted with the rescue of a man who crashed his seaplane in the Laurentians on Sunday.
The pilot was alone on board in the mountain range in southern Quebec, where he reportedly suffered injuries but was conscious and breathing before being transported to a local hospital. Byron was on a fishing trip on Lac des Sables -- a lake in the Laurentians -- with his father-in-law, brother-in-law and a friend when the plane crashed. The 33-year-old posted to Twitter to give credit to Serge Labelle, who was on the lake in a jet ski, for rescuing the pilot.
"I want everyone to know it was Serge Labelle who rescued the pilot and should be recognized for his heroic actions," Byron said. "My father-in-law, brother-in-law, friend and I assisted in the rescue. As well as many incredible others on shore. Serge is a hero!" Neal Leblond, Byron's brother-in-law,
