Samsonov leaves Capitals game, returns against Islanders in first period
Collided with teammate Oshie after playing 30 seconds, came back with 3:04 left

UNIONDALE, N.Y.-- Ilya Samsonov returned late in the first period after leaving 30 seconds into the Washington Capitals game against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum on Thursday.
The goalie went down behind the Capitals net after he collided with teammate T.J. Oshie, whose left shoulder made contact with Samsonov's head. Backup goalie Vitek Vanecek entered the game, but Samsonov reutrned with 3:04 left in the period. Samsonov was 8-1-1 with a 2.39 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 11 games (10 starts) this season.
