In addition, the Hurricanes training facilities will remain closed for players until further notice.
The NHL announced Wednesday the Hurricanes games against the Florida Panthers at PNC Arena on Thursday and Saturday have been postponed. The annoucement came one day after Carolina's game against the Nashviille Predators at Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday was postponed for what the NHL said was "out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel and in consultation with medical experts."
The rescheduled dates for the games will be announced at a later time.
Carolina forwards Warren Foegele, Jordan Martinook, Jordan Staal and Teuvo Teravainen, and defenseman Jaccob Slavin were placed in COVID-19 protocol on Tuesday.
The Hurricanes are next scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Lightning at PNC Arena on Jan. 26.
Seven NHL games have been postponed so far this season. The Dallas Stars had their first four games postponed and rescheduled because of COVID-19 issues: against the Panthers on Thursday (now Feb. 22) and Friday (now May 3), and the Lightning on Sunday (now May 4) and Tuesday (now May 10).
