Lindholm tied the game 2-2 with 2:22 remaining in the third period on a delayed penalty, putting in a rebound of Derek Ryan's shot. It was the second straight game when Los Angeles gave up a late goal to create overtime; the Ottawa Senators scored with nine seconds remaining before the Kings won 4-3 on Thursday.
"I think this group understands that we had a lead, gave it up, but we still had an opportunity to get two points," Los Angeles coach John Stevens said. "There's a big chunk of the group that knows how to win, comfortable playing in tight game. They're not going to sit there and hang their head cause things didn't go their way. There was still time on the clock to make it right."
Rask shot from the right dot to make it 2-1 with 6:57 remaining. He scored for the second game in a row, and Teuvo Teravainen had an assist for the second straight game.
"We did a good job of fighting back and just staying with it," Hurricanes center Jordan Staal said. "We've been a little mentally soft the last few games and tonight we could have easily folded. The third period was big for us. It was a whole game of working hard, which is what we want to do, and we play like that every night we're going to be a lot better off."
Toffoli's 14th goal put the Kings in front 1-0 at 6:27 of the second period. Los Angeles made it 2-0 at 9:16, with Kopitar reaching out to redirect Toffoli's pass for his 16th goal.
Kopitar extended his point streak to five games (four goals, six assists).
Quick made saves on Teravainen and Aho in overtime.
"Oh, it was just a gusty effort from us," Toffoli said. "I think [Quick] did a really good job of helping the three of us that were on the ice there, and we just locked it up and didn't really give them as much as they probably wanted knowing that we were out there for so long. But we' take it."
