Coyle-Niederreiter 10-13

Forwards Charlie Coyle and Nino Niederreiter were placed on injured reserve by the Minnesota Wild on Friday.
They were injured in a 5-2 win at the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. Coyle was placed on long-term injured reserve with a fractured right fibula; he had surgery Friday and is expected to be out 6-8 weeks. Niederreiter is expected to miss at least three weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Forward Marcus Foligno left the game with a left facial fracture. He was not placed on injured reserve but will have surgery Sunday and is expected to miss at least one week.
The Wild, who dressed 11 forwards and seven defensemen Thursday, are also without forwards Zach Parise (back) and Mikael Granlund (groin). There is no timetable for Parise's return; Granlund is expected to miss at least the next two games.
Minnesota called up forward Luke Kunin and sent defenseman Mike Reilly to Iowa of the American Hockey League on Friday. The Wild could recall as many as three players before hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets in their home opener Saturday (8 p.m. ET; FS-N, FS-O, NHL.TV).
