Kane, Strome power Blackhawks over Ducks

ANAHEIM -- Patrick Kane had a goal and two assists for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 4-2 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Wednesday.

Kane had an NHL career-high six points (one goal, five assists) in an 8-3 win against the visiting Ducks on March 8.
"Just make the right play, I think that's the most important thing," Kane said. "Whether it's a pass or a shot, just make the right play."

Dylan Strome and Alex DeBrincat each had a goal and an assist, and Kevin Lankinen made 27 saves for the Blackhawks (23-32-9), who had lost three straight (0-2-1).
Sam Carrick scored two goals in his 100th NHL game, and John Gibson made 24 saves for the Ducks (27-28-11), who have lost eight in a row (0-6-2).
"Playing 100 games is something that I'm super proud of," Carrick said. "If you look at it, I'm 30 years old. It's my 10th year as a pro, so it might not seem a lot for some people, but to me it's a pretty big deal, and more importantly, my family, too."
Strome redirected a shot pass from Riley Stillman at 16:10 of the third period to give Chicago a 3-2 lead.
DeBrincat scored his 35th goal of the season into an empty net at 18:57 for the 4-2 final.
"I like the fact that we didn't get rattled when they scored to tie it up [at 13:28 of the third period]," Chicago coach Derek King said. "We felt comfortable with our game. We kept going at it and got that big goal at the end there."

Lankinen, who's expected to be the No. 1 starter the rest of the season after Marc-Andre Fleury was traded to the Minnesota Wild on Monday, was tested early when he made a right pad save on Derek Grant at 4:07 of the first period.
The Blackhawks took a 1-0 lead at 10:11 when Taylor Raddysh scored on a wrist shot from the slot while on a power play. It was his second goal in three games since he was acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday.
Carrick tied it 1-1 at 13:40 when he scored off a backhand no-look feed from behind the net by Buddy Robinson. It was his first goal since Jan. 27 (19 games).
Anaheim came into the week No. 7 in the NHL on the penalty kill (82.9 percent) but have killed just three of eight penalties (37.5 percent) the past two games.
Kane made it 2-1 at 11:37 of the second period. He received a pass from DeBrincat in the right face-off circle and scored his 20th goal of the season on a one-timer with one knee on the ice.
Kane hit the 20-goal mark for the 14th time in 15 seasons, tying Stan Mikita for the most in Blackhawks history.
"He's pretty deceptive, and you can see out there he's making plays all over the ice," Strome said. "Lot of chances every time he's out there, so it's fun to play with him."
Carrick tied it 2-2 at 13:28. He won a face-off in the Chicago zone before knocking in a loose puck seven seconds later for his first multigoal game in the NHL.
"We're out here trying to win every game," Carrick said. "Nothing's really changed. Especially for a guy like me, there's tons to play for."

Trevor Zegras assisted on the goal for his 31st of the season, breaking Cam Fowler's Ducks record for most by a rookie in a single season set in 2010-11.
