Fiala's OT winner propels Kings to 2-1 victory

LOS ANGELES --Kevin Fiala scored with 1.4 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 2-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday.

Fiala shot into an open net from the right circle after receiving a pass from Phillip Danault, who got his own rebound after his initial chance was blocked by Philipp Kurashev.
"I feel like we had so many chances. Just didn't go our way," Fiala said. "Hit bars, posts. We had so many long offensive shifts where we couldn't connect, but we stuck together and kept going and kept going, and that's how it turns out."
Danault had a goal and an assist, and Jonathan Quick made 31 saves for the Kings (9-6-1), who have won three straight and are 5-1-1 in their past seven games.
"This is more Kings hockey right now," Danault said. "We're playing good defensively, which creates frustration with the other team, and we create some chances on our side, so that's Kings hockey right now."

The Blackhawks (5-5-3) have lost six of their past seven games (1-3-3). Petr Mrazek made 33 saves in his first start since sustaining a groin injury on Oct. 21.
"I think we got to tip our caps to 'Raz' tonight, he was unbelievable," Chicago forward Max Domi said. "I haven't seen a goalie performance like that for a long time, so he kept us in it for the whole game, got the point."
Taylor Raddysh gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead at 18:51 of the first period, scoring on a one-timer near the right hash marks off a pass from Jonathan Toews on the power play.
The Blackhawks were 1-for-4 on the power play with 10 shots on goal. The Kings were 0-for-4 with the man-advantage.
"We got that first goal, I thought we really deserved it," Chicago coach Luke Richardson said. "Power play and penalty killing was excellent. I thought we could have had even more on the power play."

Danault tied it 1-1 at 1:41 of the second period with a one-timer from the left circle shortly after a power play expired.
Kings center Anze Kopitar appeared to give Los Angeles the lead at 6:09 of the second, but his goal was waived off because of a hooking penalty by Fiala.
The Kings had another chance to take the lead late in the second, when their pressure forced Blackhawks defenseman Alec Regula to be on the ice for the final 4:10. Fellow defenseman Caleb Jones finally got to the bench after a 3:58 shift.
"I needed new lungs there," Mrazek said.
Los Angeles also had a couple chances in the final 35 seconds of regulation, but Mrazek stopped two close-range shots from Danault and a long attempt through traffic by Mikey Anderson.
That led to a back-and-forth overtime, when Quick was able to make seven saves to help the Kings get the win.
"It was a tight game from both teams," Fiala said. "Both goaltenders played unbelievable. It was kind of a playoff game, you know, and it's nice that we won."
