Forward Marcus Kruger agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday. Financial terms were not released but TSN reported it to have a value of $9.25 million.
Kruger, 25, would have been a restricted free agent July 1. He has one assist in 33 games this season but hasn't played since Dec. 17 because of a left wrist injury. Kruger was selected by Chicago in the fifth round (No. 149) of the 2009 NHL Draft. In six NHL seasons, all with the Blackhawks, he has 28 goals and 85 points in 320 regular-season games. He also helped the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup in 2013 and 2015.
