Marian Hossa 1-1-17

ST. LOUIS --Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa will not play in the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic against the St. Louis Blues on Monday (1 p.m. ET; NBC, SN, TVA Sports, NHL.TV), coach Joel Quenneville said Sunday.

"Hossa's situation is he skated today, felt better," Quenneville said after the Blackhawks' practice at Busch Stadium. "He will not be playing tomorrow."
Quenneville previously said he was hopeful that Hossa, who is on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, could play in the Winter Classic. Hossa last played on Dec. 20 and has missed the past four games. He did not practice Sunday and skated in Chicago.
Hossa's 16 goals are tied with forward Artem Anisimov for the Blackhawks lead. His four points (all assists) in three outdoor games with Chicago are second behind captain Jonathan Toews' six (two goals, four assists) in four games.
Hossa is not the only member of the Blackhawks who will miss the Winter Classic. Chicago placed forward Marcus Kruger on injured reserve with an upper-body injury Sunday. Quenneville said Kruger will be out for about three weeks.
