ST. LOUIS -- Vinnie Hinostroza scored with 4:25 remaining to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 6-4 victory against the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center on Saturday in the final meeting between the teams until the 2017 Bridgestone Winter Classic at Busch Stadium Jan. 2.
The Blackhawks (21-8-4), who have won four in a row, got a goal and two assists from Artemi Panarin. Patrick Kane had a goal and assist and Dennis Rasmussen, Brian Campbell and Niklas Hjalmarsson each scored. Scott Darling made 23 saves.

Hinostroza sent a backhand past Allen following a rebound from Brent Seabrook's shot that caromed off Blues defenseman Joel Edmundson.

"It's been a while since I scored my last [goal], but I feel like I've been getting a lot of chances so it's good to see one hit the back of the net," said Hinostroza, who hadn't scored since Nov. 19 against the Vancouver Canucks. "It's our biggest rival, obviously. We're at the top of the division with these guys, so anytime we can come here and beat them at their barn, it's huge. It was a great win."
Patrik Berglund scored two goals for the first time in 68 games, Kyle Brodziak and Alex Pietrangelo each had a goal and Edmundson had a career-high for points in a game (three assists). Jake Allen made 30 saves for St. Louis (17-11-4), which saw its point streak at home end at 14 (11-0-3).

Allen lost for the first time in regulation at Scottrade Center (11-1-2) and had his eight-game home winning streak end.
"It's not good enough," Allen said. "If we want to be a top team in the League and catch the top team in our division, we need to be better than that. We had spurts, but not enough spurts."
Hjalmarsson tied it 4-4 1:00 into the third on a slap shot, and Panarin followed Hinostroza's goal with an empty-net goal with 49 seconds remaining.

Berglund scored on a breakaway 41 seconds into the game. Chicago tied it 1-1 with 25.2 seconds left when Rasmussen scored on a rebound.
The teams combined for five goals in the second period.

The Blues went ahead 2-1 when Brodziak's shot hit a broken stick on the ice and slipped through Darling's pads at 3:12. Kane tied it 2-2 on a breakaway at 10:44 before Berglund's second of the game put the Blues ahead at 14:35.
Campbell tied it 3-3 with 1:01 remaining, and Pietrangelo put the Blues ahead for the fourth time with 11.6 seconds remaining.

They said it

"I think our team game had a real good trip as far as how we played with and without the puck. Finding a way to win in a tough building was huge for us tonight and Vinnie has great timing at the net hanging around and a good finish as well. That was a huge goal." -- Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville
"I'm glad we're going to get a chance to have this Winter Classic game because I think people are really going to get a good feel for the type of emotion and the type of intensity that's around these games." -- Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk
"Our execution 5-on-5 is good enough to beat certain teams, but if we want to play with the top dogs we're going to have to execute at a higher level. Our determination on our 1-on-1's is going to have to increase dramatically if we want to play with the big dogs." -- Blues coach Ken Hitchcock
"It was kind of a wide-open game. We did a good job coming back there [down] 4-3, getting a goal in the first minute and then getting another one and then finishing it off with an empty net, so you've got to be happy being down going into the third on the road and coming away with two points." -- Blackhawks right wing Patrick Kane
