Save Streak: Kreider steals show with five-hole move

Chris Kreider saw a Tampa Bay Lightning jersey and got a bright idea.

The New York Rangers forward pulled out Nikita Kucherov's signature move and scored on Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy during the 2022 Dunkin' NHL Save Streak event.
The move, of course, is not shooting at all. Kreider just let the puck slyly slide toward the net while pretending to continue to handle the puck.
For the uninitiated, Kucherov first came up with this sorcery back in March of 2017 when he used the move
to score a shootout goal
against then-Buffalo Sabres goalie Robin Lehner.
"I figured, Tampa Bay goalie, try the 'Kuch' move on him, just for fun," Kreider said. "It worked out. It's something that we mess around with after practice. That's what this is all about right, having fun? So I figured I'd try it."

Kucherov famously pulled the move during the
2018 NHL All-Star Game
to beat then-Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby. One month later, Kucherov beat Holtby
with it again
during a regular season game.

But don't expect Kreider to try the same in the coming months.
"I don't know how well it would work in a game," he laughed.
