So, the coach came up with the idea to get headbands from the fictional Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do dojos and hand them out after each game.
For those not familiar, the Cobra Kai dojo had a strike first philosophy, so that headband would go to the Capitals offensive player of the game. On Thursday that was forward T.J. Oshie.
Miyagi Do was more of a defense first philosophy. That headband went to defenseman Brenden Dillon.
The unique postgame gifts caught the attention of "Cobra Kai" series creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald on Twitter.
Hurwitz even said that he picked up a new favorite hockey team after seeing the clip and used the hashtag "#GoodCoaching."
