Nathan MacKinnon 2.2

Nathan MacKinnon is week to week for the Colorado Avalanche with a lower-body injury.

The center did not play in the third period of a 4-3 overtime loss at the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, or when Colorado defeated Minnesota 2-1 at home on Tuesday.
"It is what it is," Colorado captain Gabriel Landeskog said. "Better to go through it now than in May and June in the playoffs. ... We'll figure this out and keep working. There's no other way to answer this than we're going to keep working."
MacKinnon played 15 shifts totaling 15:24 and had two assists Sunday. He left the ice with 18 seconds remaining in the second period.
MacKinnon was tied for third in the NHL with 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) in 10 games. He was fifth in the NHL with 93 points (35 goals, 58 assists) in 69 games last season.
The Avalanche were without five other players against the Wild: Goalie Pavel Francouz, forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and defenseman Devon Toews each has a lower-body injury and is week to week; forward Matt Calvert and defenseman Erik Johnson each has an upper-body injury and is week to week.
