Andre Burakovsky COL

With the NHL pausing the 2019-20 regular season on March 12 due to the concerns surrounding the coronavirus, NHL.com is taking stock of each of the League's 31 teams.
Today, a fantasy recap of the Colorado Avalanche at the pause:
NOTE: Rank for most-valuable fantasy player is based on standard-category production to date.

Fantasy MVP: Nathan MacKinnon, C (rank: 2) -- He's fifth in the NHL with 93 points (35 goals, 58 assists) in 69 games this season. Even more impressive is MacKinnon has done this with top-line forwards Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog each missing extended periods of time because of injury. MacKinnon leads the NHL in shots on goal (318), and is fourth in power-play points (31) and sixth in assists (58). He has justified his top-five ADP and could be the top ranked overall player with healthy linemates.

Biggest surprise: Pavel Francouz, G --He was undrafted in most leagues, but Francouz is now owned in a majority of them, going 21-7-4 with one shutout and a .923 save percentage in 34 games. He has more wins and a better save percentage than Philipp Grubauer, who was projected to be Colorado's No. 1 goalie. After Grubauer was injured Feb. 15, Francouz was 8-2-2 with a .919 SV% in his next 12 games.

COL@ANA: Francouz boosts Avs with first NHL shutout

Unsung hero: Andre Burakovsky, LW/RW --He's third on the Avalanche with 45 points (20 goals, 25 assists) in 58 games, a breakout season for the 24-year-old. Burakovsky was an intriguing deep sleeper heading into the season but has well surpassed expectations and has even skated on the top line and power play in the absence of Rantanen.
