Hellebuyck’s kids make homemade sign for 500th NHL game

Connor Hellebuyck felt the love from his biggest fans during his 500th NHL game on Saturday.

The Winnipeg Jets goalie’s kids made a custom homemade sign to celebrate their dad’s career milestone at Canada Life Centre.

“Congrats on 500 games Dada. We love you!” the sign read. It featured cutouts of Hellebuyck and painted handprints of his kids.

The Jets also showed their support for the veteran goalie sporting custom T-shirts before their game against the Ottawa Senators.

During warmups, Hellebuyck wore a special jersey that had the No. “500” stitched on the back.

Jets fans gave the goalie a standing ovation during the first TV timeout of the game.

Hellebuyck is in his ninth season with the Jets. He is the franchise leader in wins (270), shutouts (36) and save percentage (.917).
