Tampa Bay became the 79th team in NHL history to score at least four goals in each of their first two periods of a regular-season game, but just the third in the last decade. The others came eight days apart: the New York Islanders on Feb. 11, 2011, and the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 19, 2011.
It's the second time since joining the NHL in 1992 that the Lightning have had five players each finish with at least three points in a game. Kucherov had a goal and three assists, Steven Stamkos had a goal and two assists, Victor Hedman had three assists, Yanni Gourde had a goal and two assists, and Alex Killorn had two goals and an assist Thursday. The other time the Lightning had five players with at least three points in a game was against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 30, 2018.
Tampa Bay is the second team this season to have five players finish with at least three points in a game; Colorado did it against the Nashville Predators in a 9-4 win Nov. 7. The last team with more than five players with at least three points was Edmonton, who had six against the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 19, 2011.
It was the third game this season with at least 12 goals scored. The others each had 13 goals; Tampa Bay won 7-6 in overtime against New Jersey on Oct. 30, and Colorado won 9-4 against Nashville on Nov. 7.
