Crawford hasn't played since Dec. 23 because of an upper-body injury. He was removed during the first period of a 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils and was placed on injured reserve Dec. 27. He also was out the first week of December because of a lower-body injury.
The Blackhawks return from the All-Star break with a game at the Nashville Predators on Jan. 30, and then play at the Vancouver Canucks on Feb. 1 and at the Calgary Flames on Feb. 3.
"When we get him on the ice we'll know more, but playing may be a little distant," Quenneville said.
Crawford participated in an off-ice workout for a third consecutive day Wednesday.
"Certainly, being around his teammates and being back around the group and progressing as well," Quenneville said. "It seems like he has a good frame of mind and he's looking forward to getting on the ice."
