Smith, a first-time All-Star, stole the show Saturday night, squeezing a puck through a miniscule space from roughly 200 feet away during the Honda NHL Four Line Challenge.
While the goal was surprising, Smith is widely considered one of the best puck-handling goaltenders in the league. Smith credited his work with former Dallas Stars goalie Marty Turco for his improved puck ability.
His effort got 20 points sealed a victory for the Pacific Division in the Four Line Challenge.
"I couldn't believe it went in. But it was a pretty cool moment, something I'll probably remember for a long time," Smith told NHL Network. "It was all in good fun and neat to see it go in."
