The goalie could have become a restricted free agent after the season.

Vejmelka is 10-23-1 with a 3.35 goals-against average, .905 save percentage and one shutout in 36 games (34 starts) this season. He is second among rookie goalies in games and starts, and fifth in wins and save percentage (minimum 10 games).
The 25-year-old was selected in the fifth round (No. 145) of the 2015 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators and signed as a free agent with the Coyotes on May 5, 2021.
Arizona (20-38-4) is last in the Central Division.
