Fantasy picks: Patric Hornqvist in great spot at home
Penguins wing among Feb. 3 DFS options on line with Sidney Crosby
C - John Tavares, NYI ($7,200)
Tavares has 14 points and 39 shots on goal in his past nine games, and has a favorable draw at the Detroit Red Wings, who are allowing the third-most DraftKings points to centers. The New York Islanders are riding a seven-game point streak, and Tavares has a high floor averaging 3.2 SOG per game this season. He has 16 points in 13 career games against Detroit.
C - Ryan Kesler, ANA ($6,800)
Kesler is in the midst of a seven-game goal drought, but that could end Friday against the Florida Panthers, who have allowed 38 goals in 13 games this calendar year. He's $100 cheaper than his Anaheim Ducks teammate Corey Perry despite averaging 0.5 DraftKings points more per game (3.6) than the right wing (3.1). Kesler has sound category coverage (18 points, 27 blocks, 47 SOG) in 26 road games.
W - Patric Hornqvist, PIT ($5,800)
Hornqvist will get a chance to play with Sidney Crosby in the absence of injured forward Conor Sheary, and has been red-hot of late for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has four goals, two blocks and 16 SOG in his past four games, and has scored 11 of his 14 goals at home, where the Penguins host the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hornqvist should also be on the first power-play unit with Evgeni Malkin (lower body) likely sidelined again.
W - Jonathan Marchessault, FLA ($5,000)
Marchessault is on a five-game point streak (two goals, five assists) with 3.0 SOG per game in that span, and continues to be one of the surprise stories of the fantasy season. He hasn't gone more than two games without a point and is second on the Panthers in points per game (0.73) behind injured center Aleksander Barkov (0.75). Marchessault is tied for the Florida lead with 11 power-play points.
W - Sebastian Aho, CAR ($4,500)
Aho has nine points, five blocks and 28 SOG in his past 10 games for an average of 4.3 DraftKings points per game. Four of his eight PPP have come in the past four games. It will be tough for him to replicate his 15.5 DraftKings points from Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers, but he should return value against the Edmonton Oilers at home with such a cheap price. The rookie has at least a point in four of his past six games.
D - Nick Leddy, NYI ($4,800)
Leddy has at least 2.0 DraftKings points in nine of his past 10 games and at least 4.0 five times. Investing in his strong peripherals (73 blocks, 89 SOG) and recent scoring spree (11 points in past 10 games) is a no-brainer against the Red Wings, who have allowed 70 goals in 26 home games.
D - Trevor Daley, PIT ($3,800)
Since Daley's three-assist game against the Washington Capitals on Jan. 16, he has two goals and no assists but has nine blocks and 16 SOG in six games (3.1 DraftKings points per game). That makes him a glaring value pick priced below $4,000 at home against the Blue Jackets. Daley has scored 13 of his 17 points at PPG Paints Arena and saw some power-play time with defenseman Kris Letang against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
G - Thomas Greiss, NYI ($7,600)
Greiss has been rolling in daily fantasy for weeks, providing solid DraftKings point totals even in losses. He's averaging the most DraftKings points per game (5.4) among Friday goalies yet is tied for fourth in price. He has a .934 save percentage in 11 road games, and is 4-0-1 with 7.1 DraftKings points per game since Doug Weight took over as Islanders coach.
UTIL - Michael Cammalleri, NJD ($4,300)
Cammalleri is extremely affordable in DraftKings and has four assists in his past four games. He hasn't scored a goal in his past 12 games, but don't be surprised if that ends at home against his former team, the Calgary Flames. Cammalleri has two goals on 53 SOG at home, a shooting percentage (3.8) that is eventually bound for a correction. He also averaged 2:27 per game on the power play in January and is a low-ownership threat for a multipoint game.
