CALGARY --Jason Robertson scored his second goal of the game with 13 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Dallas Stars a 6-5 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday.

Robertson, who also had an assist, puck-handled around Calgary defenseman Rasmus Andersson in the left face-off circle, drove to the net and lifted a backhand past a sliding Jakob Markstrom.
His goal came after Andersson hit the crossbar 1:26 into overtime.
"I was trying to make something out of nothing," Robertson said. "I knew [Roope Hintz was] driving [to] the net, beat his guy. I was pretty high up to shoot it. I think I surprised him and I kind of surprised myself too. I was able to finish. Capped off a solid road trip."
Joe Pavelski had a goal and two assists, and Hintz had three assists for the Stars (38-19-13), who won four of six on a season-high six-game road trip. Jake Oettinger made 33 saves.
Dallas leads the Colorado Avalanche and Minnesota Wild by three points for first in the Central Division and trails the Vegas Golden Knights and Los Angeles Kings by one point for the Western Conference lead.
"We know we can compete with any team in the League and we want to win the Western Conference," Dallas forward Wyatt Johnston said. "The confidence is really high. We all believe in ourselves and we want to win the Stanley Cup."

DAL@CGY: Robertson's second goal wins it in overtime

Andersson and MacKenzie Weegar each had a goal and two assists, and Elias Lindholm had a goal and an assist for the Flames (31-24-15), who have points in four straight (2-0-2). Markstrom made 20 saves.
Calgary trails the Winnipeg Jets by four points for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the West.
"We've got to just win," Weegar said. "We've got to find a way to win. And win every game going forward.
"We're big boys in here. We do a good job keeping the positivity and keeping the confidence high. What are we going to do? Dwell on it and let it crush us? No. We've got 12 games and we've got to win. We've got to keep going here."
Andersson gave Calgary a 5-4 lead at 9:53 of the third period when he beat a stickless Oettinger through a screen from the right point.
Jani Hakanpaa
tied it 5-5 at 12:09 when his wrist shot from the right hash marks bounced in.
"I think there were a lot of swing of emotions," Robertson said. "There were 11 goals. I mean, it's kind of funny. I don't know who I was talking to in the intermission but I was like, 'This isn't like playoffs last year (in the Western Conference First Round), right?' Every game was 1-0, 2-0. This season, every time we play them, it's 6-5, 5-4, 6-5. It is what it is, but I'm glad we got the better end tonight."

DAL@CGY: Robertson buries rebound to knot score

Pavelski put the Stars up 1-0 at 1:05 of the first period, backhanding a rebound over a sprawling Markstrom during a crease scramble. Radek Faksa extended it to 2-0 53 seconds later at 1:58, scoring on the rebound of Hintz's shot from the slot.
Lindholm pulled Calgary within 2-1 on a rebound at 3:01.
Johnston made it 3-1 by tipping Miro Heiskanen's wrist shot from the point past Markstrom's blocker at 16:08. Johnston has scored in four straight games and leads NHL rookies with 20 goals.
"At the start of the year I was kind of just happy to be playing in the NHL and happy to just be here," he said. "As the season's transitioned I've tried to improve my game and get better and be a big contributor for the team. That was my goal at the end of the day, to come here and be a contributor."
Weegar cut it to 3-2 at 10:20 of the second period, and Blake Coleman tied it 3-3 at 13:56 when he swept in a loose puck in the crease from his stomach.
"We did a good job of climbing back in the game," Weegar said. "It's the same thing battling down to the last minute going into OT. It comes down to one play. We've got to start making that play."
Nick Ritchie gave Calgary a 4-3 lead at 16:58 when he slid a backhand through the five-hole after he was sprung on a breakaway by Andersson.
"Rough start," Lindholm said. "Last 40 (minutes) we were playing well. Probably should've won in regular time. Got the one point and that was it."

DAL@CGY: Andersson, Ritchie connect for Flames lead

Robertson tied it 4-4 at 18:10 on a rebound in the slot for his 40th goal of the season. He is the third player in Stars/Minnesota North Stars history with consecutive 40-goal seasons, joining Dino Ciccarelli (three, 1985-88) and Dave Gagner (two, 1989-91).
"[A] lot of guys are having fantastic seasons," Robertson said. "It kind of bleeds into my game and that success translates from our team to individuals. We're doing really well in the standings right now. We want to keep it that way. That sure helps a guy like me to achieve that milestone."
NOTES:Heiskanen extended his NHL career-high point streak to 10 games (17 points; three goals, 14 assists). He joined Craig Hartsburg (11 games in 1986-87) as the only defensemen in Stars/North Stars history to have a double-digit point streak. ... Calgary leads the NHL with 15 overtime/shootout losses. ... Andersson has eight points (two goals, six assists) during a four-game point streak.
