COL@DAL: Stars celebrate Benn on 1,000 NHL games

Jamie Benn was honored like a star on Saturday.

The Dallas Stars celebrated the veteran forward's 1,000th NHL game milestone with a special pregame ceremony before their game against the Colorado Avalanche at American Airlines Center on Saturday.
Benn was joined by his family on the ice for the ceremony.
Longtime teammate Tyler Seguin gifted Benn with a custom Rolex watch on behalf of his Stars teammates.
Stars general manager Jim Nill presented Benn with the commemorative silver stick for reaching the career milestone.

The Stars also honored their captain by wearing special patches on their jerseys for the game. The patches featured Benn's No. 14, his signature and the words "The Captain" and "1,000 NHL Games."

Former Stars legend Mike Modano congratulated Benn with a special video message.
"Jamie, Congratulations on 1,000 games. You represented the Dallas Stars and the city of Dallas with a lot of class," Modano said in the video. "Something you should be very proud of. But don't stop there, keep it going. I'll be watching buddy. All the best and take care."

Benn played his 1,000th NHL game on Feb. 6 against the Anaheim Ducks. His teammates
celebrated the achievement
by slicking back their hair and taping their sticks exactly like their captain before the game.
