Jason Robertson scored to extend his point streak to eight games, and Roope Hintz had two assists for the Stars (23-10-6). Jake Oettinger allowed three goals on 35 shots.
"We played well enough to at least earn some points," Dallas defenseman Esa Lindell said. "I think the special teams made the difference."
Kempe put Los Angeles back in front 3-2 at 9:25 of the third on the power play. He finished a 2-on-1 from Kevin Fiala, who had built up speed through the neutral zone.
"We came with a lot of speed on the third [goal] there," Kempe said. "I think when you get those type of chances, you got to take care of them. … We got a good opportunity tonight, and it bounced the right way."
Fiala took a slashing penalty against Joel Kiviranta on his next shift, but the Kings killed it off, finishing the game 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. It was the first time in the past 11 games they did not give up a power-play goal.
"I think we've had a lot of focusing on dialing in the PK, and to do that tonight is something I think we can build off of," Copley said. "Definitely gives the PK some confidence, and it was big."

Anze Kopitar gave the Kings a 2-1 lead at 8:13, tipping in Drew Doughty's point shot.
Robertson tied it back up 2-2 at 9:09, scoring from the slot off Joe Pavelski's centering pass.
"Big-time play," Dallas coach Peter DeBoer said of Pavelski. "That line was dangerous again all night. I just didn't think we had enough other lines going."

Copley is the fifth goalie in Kings history to win seven straight games.
"He's come in, and he's settled everything down, and he's stabilized the group," Los Angeles coach Todd McLellan said. "Right now, Pheonix has the hot hand."
