Wedgewood perfect in a 4-0 win over the Kings

LOS ANGELES --Scott Wedgewood made 34 saves, including 14 in the third period, for the Dallas Stars in a 4-0 win against the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena on Thursday.

It was Wedgewood's first shutout of the season and the sixth of his NHL career and came after he allowed six goals on 36 shots in a 6-5 loss to the Calgary Flames on Saturday.
"Didn't tell him to his face, but behind his back tonight everyone was saying how we've got to rebound for him. That game wasn't on him; we played awful in front of him," Dallas forward Tyler Seguin said. "And he's got one of the toughest jobs in hockey. You don't know when you're going to play, you don't play that much. You just practice every day, work your butt off every day, always stay prepared."

Seguin had two goals and an assist, and Jason Robertson had a goal and an assist for the Stars (27-12-7), who went 2-1-0 on a three-game road trip after a 5-3 loss at the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
"I think once we got our lead, we didn't really shrink from that," Robertson said. "Our penalty kill was outstanding, 'Wedgie' also. We just kept with it and kind of squeezed the game out."
Pheonix Copley was replaced in the second period after allowing four goals on 17 shots for the Kings (25-16-6), who have lost consecutive games in regulation for the first time since Oct. 20-22. Jonathan Quick made seven saves in relief.
"He's played well for us lately," Los Angeles coach Todd McLellan said of Copley, who lost for the third time in 15 games (12-3-0). "It wasn't his best night, maybe his poorest that he's had with us. We wanted to get him more time, but it was a real good time for 'Quickie' to go in."
Seguin gave Dallas a 1-0 lead 6:54 into the first period with a shot from above the right face-off circle that trickled between Copley's legs.
He made it 2-0 at 17:20 on a wrist shot from the left circle, and Esa Lindell gave the Stars a 3-0 lead just 1:24 later at 18:44 with a wrist shot from the high slot on a 2-on-1 with Wyatt Johnston.

DAL@LAK: Seguin rips a shot into the corner

Seguin, who centered the first line for Robertson and Joe Pavelski with Roope Hintz missing his sixth straight game because of an upper-body injury, has eight points (five goals, three assists) in that span.
"I know I'm just keeping Roope's seat warm, but they're great players and I'm able to find open spaces out there," Seguin said. "I'm not going to play with those guys forever, so this game is about opportunities and just trying to make the most of it and not mess up their chemistry too much."
Robertson made it 4-0 at 7:27 of the second. His initial wraparound attempt was stopped by Copley, but Robertson scored on the rebound.
Seguin had the primary assist for his second game with three points this season. He had three assists in the season opener against the Nashville Predators on Oct. 13.
Robertson credited Seguin with providing energy to the line. Seguin, Robertson and Pavelski were each plus-3.
"He's enjoying it," Robertson said. "I'm enjoying playing with him, and I'm sure 'Pav' is too, and yeah, we all like that little extra jump he's got right now."

DAL@LAK: Robertson scores in 2nd period

Copley was pulled after Robertson's goal. He has allowed three or more goals in each of his past three starts and four of five.
"The puck was bouncing on us. It was a lot of factors," Kings captain Anze Kopitar said. "Obviously, the first period didn't go the way we wanted it to go, and it showed on the scoreboard."
