Seguin's 2 goals propel Stars to a 4-1 win over Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Tyler Seguin scored twice for the Dallas Stars in a 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center on Thursday.

Wyatt Johnston had a goal and an assist, and Jake Oettinger made 23 saves for the Stars (22-9-6), who went 2-for-3 on the power play and are 6-1-1 in their past eight games.
"We're happy, but we're never satisfied," Seguin said. "Once you get past Thanksgiving, it's all about keep climbing. With our schedule right now, we've got to get all the points we can."

Kirill Kaprizov scored his 20th goal of the season, and Marc-Andre Fleury made 39 saves for the Wild (20-13-2) who had won seven straight at home.
"Everybody in the world knows they're a shot-volume group and they tip," Minnesota coach Dean Evason said. "Their two most important goals are shooting and tipping. Conversely, we got pucks up to the top and we had lanes to shoot. We didn't. … It was a bit of a frustrating game in that aspect.
"But having said that, it was still a really good hockey game, really competitive hockey game. It was playoff atmosphere. It felt like it. Both teams were playing hard, playing well. They just caught a couple tips and got pucks to the net, and we didn't."
Seguin gave Dallas a 1-0 lead on the power play at 7:13 of the first period. Ryan Suter took a shot inside the blue line that was tipped wide by Radek Faksa, but Seguin scored on the rebound.
Kaprizov tied it 1-1 at 17:09 with a bank shot off Oettinger's back to extend his home point streak to 13 games (eight goals, 15 assists).
"I didn't know he was a threat from behind the net, but now I know that," Oettinger said. "Obviously, [that was] one probably I want back. I think there might be a bruise or something on the back of my head, but I'm happy we got the win."

Johnston put Dallas back in front 2-1 at 3:29 of the third period when he redirected a shot from Nils Lundkvist.
It was Johnston's fourth goal in his past five games and 11th of the season, which tied the 19-year-old with Seattle Kraken forward Matty Beniers for the NHL rookie lead.
"I think for me personally, just getting more comfortable, getting kind of more used to the game, just building chemistry with my linemates, I think that's a really big thing," Johnston said. "I think the past few games we've been improving every game, just kind of learning off of each other. Obviously, I'm playing with two really good players right now (Jamie Benn, Mason Marchment), so that makes it a lot easier."
Benn deflected Jason Robertson's shot through traffic on the power play to extend the lead to 3-1 at 13:26, and Seguin scored an empty-net goal at 17:58 for the 4-1 final.
"I liked all four of our lines tonight," Dallas coach Peter DeBoer said. "I thought everybody hopped over the boards and contributed. You didn't have to hide anybody. They've got a real good team, and I thought we had everybody going."
