INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- Mason Marchment scored his third goal of the preseason for the Dallas Stars in a 5-2 win against the St. Louis Blues at Cable Dahmer Arena on Saturday.
Will Butcher had three assists, and Jake Oettinger made 12 saves for Dallas. Pavel Buchnevich and Logan Brown scored, and Joel Hofer made 19 saves for St. Louis. Jacob Peterson gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 17:06 of the first period before Marchment made it 2-0 at 18:55. Ryan Shea extended the lead to 3-0 at 19:21 of the second period. Buchnevich cut it to 3-1 with a power-play goal at 6:48 of the third period, but Wyatt Johnston scored off a pass from Marchment at 7:27 to make it 4-1. Fredrik Olofsson then pushed it to 5-1 at 12:49 before Brown scored his fourth of the preseason at 14:03 for the 5-2 final.
