Krecji's wife Naomi, and their two children, Elina and Everett, joined him on the ice as the team played a video that featured a virtual parade of teammates, past and present.
Everyone from current Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron to recently retired teammates Tuukka Rask and Zdeno Chara to NHL legends Cam Neely [currently the Bruins president] and Jaromir Jagr sent along a heartfelt message for Krecji.
Bruins legend Johnny Bucyk, a member of Boston's Stanley Cup champions in 1970 and 1972, presented Krecji with a Tiffany crystal on behalf of the NHL. Bruins general manager Don Sweeney presented Krecji with an engraved silver stick to commemorate the milestone.
The team also commissioned a custom painting from noted sports artist Tony Harris, who worked the names of Krecji's wife into the piece on the uniforms.
Teammates Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak gave Krecji an engraved Rolex watch and engraved bottle of wine. Naomi Krecji was presented with a necklace featuring David's jersey number, 46, and the number 1,000, on behalf of the Bruins' wives and girlfriends.
