Perron son ceremony

David Perron and his son shared a special moment during his 1,000th game ceremony Tuesday.

The Detroit Red Wings forward's son, Mason, skated with him on the Little Caesars Arena ice as part of the pregame ceremony.

Mason sported his full hockey gear and his dad's No. 57 jersey beside his dad during the national anthem.

The Red Wings honored Perron for the career milestone before their game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Perron played his 1,000th NHL game on Saturday against the Dallas Stars.
The Red Wings alternate captain was also joined by his wife, Vanessa, and his daughter, Victoria, for the festivities.

A special video featuring former teammates Kris Letang, Marc-Andre Fleury, Jaden Schwartz and Brayden Schenn applauding Perron aired on the jumbotron.
"I want to say congratulations for 1,000 games," Letang said in the video. "It's an amazing accomplishment. It was fun playing with you. Obviously, you are one of my best friends, and it was fun to share the locker room and share the ice with you and I wish you a 1,000 more."
Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin presented Perron with the commemorative silver stick and two mini silver sticks for Mason and Victoria.
The 34-year-old forward was also presented with a Rolex from the Red Wings and an all-expenses paid golf trip by his teammates.
This wasn't the first time the Red Wings celebrated Perron on his milestone. On Saturday, they
sported custom Perron shirts before their game against the Stars.
