Patrice Bergeron had three assists; and Brad Marchand, David Krejci and Brandon Carlo each had two assists for Boston.
Filip Hronek scored his first NHL goal, and Dylan Larkin scored a shorthanded goal for the Red Wings (0-3-2), who have lost their first five games of the season for the first time since 1980-81. Jonathan Bernier allowed eight goals on 39 shots.

Enterprise Hat Trick: Pastrnak gets three for Boston

"They didn't really have to work for the scoring chances they got," Detroit center Frans Nielsen said. "I think we basically gave them odd-man rushes against. We've got to do a way better job of managing the puck and being harder to play against. This is just so far from what we want to be."
Pastrnak has seven goals in five games this season.
"Parts of his game are growing, and his shot is too," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "Like last year, he had a lot of great one-timer goals, but this year he seems to be even more on with it. ... I just like the fact that he's trying to keep everyone involved in those plays and trying to be a good team player and a good 200-foot player."
Pastrnak made it 1-0 51 seconds into the first period with an end-to-end rush he finished by beating Bernier with a snap shot from the left face-off dot.
McAvoy made it 2-0 with a shot that deflected off defenseman Nick Jensen's skate at 4:44 of the second period after Bergeron won a face-off back to the point. DeBrusk scored on a partial breakaway at 11:27 to make it 3-0.

Pastrnak scored his second goal on a power play with a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle at 16:20 for a 4-0 lead. It was his 100th NHL goal.
"I don't really think about [my success]," Pastrnak said. "I just go out there and play hockey ... and enjoy every moment on the ice."
Hronek scored 21 seconds into the third period with a slap shot from the left point through a Michael Rasmussen screen during a 5-on-3 to make it 4-1. Pastrnak completed his hat trick on a 2-on-1 with Marchand to make it 5-1 at 2:05.
Larkin scored at 8:23 to get the Red Wings within 5-2. Bjork scored at 10:12 to make it 6-2, and DeBrusk scored at 15:15 to give Boston a 7-2 lead. Kuraly made it 8-2 with two seconds remaining.
"I think it's important for our top guys to come in and play, and it's also important for the next couple of lines to step up as well," Carlo said. "There wasn't a lot of error in our game tonight, we all stuck together, and I think the result showed that."

They said it

"Well we regressed tonight for sure. I don't think there's any doubt that that game is not even close to good enough in any stretch. Is it troubling? Yeah, it was a bad effort. I don't know if effort is even the right word. Bad effort, bad execution, unacceptable." -- Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill
"Just wow. ... He just gets the puck and winds up and you don't think too much of it, but then once he picks up speed at the red line and then the defenseman gets stuck standing still just a little bit, then he's in trouble, and the next thing you know … he's not even in a danger area really from a goaltender standpoint, but then quick backhand, forehand, then puts it top shelf." -- Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask on David Pastrnak
