McKinstry Red Wings

At first glance you might have thought Detroit Tigers infielder Zach McKinstry lit the lamp at Little Caesars Arena this weekend. But nope, it was definitely a home run.

The Detroit Red Wings baseball counterparts debuted a new home run celebration and it had a heavy Hockeytown flavor.
After McKinstry hit a homer in the seventh inning of Saturday's game against the Baltimore Orioles, he went back to the dugout and immediately switched out his batting helmet for a bright red hockey helmet and dumped his bat for a hockey stick.
He then proceeded to rip a nasty slapshot, one that would probably turn some heads at the rink.

The Red Wings appreciated the gesture.

McKinstry sure looks like he's just as good with the hockey stick as he is with the baseball bat.
