Fabbri records goal, assist in win over Flyers

PHILADELPHIA -- Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond each had a goal and an assist for the Detroit Red Wings in a 6-3 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday.

Pius Suter and Robby Fabbri each had a goal and an assist, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 21 saves for Detroit (21-21-6).
The six goals matched a season high for the Red Wings; they scored that many three other times.
"Everyone can score," said Red Wings defenseman Moritz Seider, who had two assists. "We have a really good lineup. Guys are chipping in. We're really happy with the [win] tonight."

Isaac Ratcliffe, Travis Sanheim and Scott Laughton scored, and Carter Hart made 28 saves for Philadelphia (15-23-8), which had won two in a row.
"It's not like one part of our game broke us down tonight," Flyers coach Mike Yeo said. "You can start with 1-on-1 battles, loose puck races, you can move into execution, you can move into the structure, the details of our game.
"We've started to try to establish what our standards are in certain areas and today we didn't meet those standards."
It was the opener of a home-and-home; the teams play again at Detroit on Saturday.
Larkin's power-play goal put the Red Wings ahead 1-0 at 2:43 of the first period. His shot from the right face-off circle went in off the skate of Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov.
Ratcliffe tied it 1-1 20 seconds later with his first NHL goal at 3:03. Zack MacEwen's shot from the high slot went in off Ratcliffe.
The goal, in Ratcliffe's third game, was upheld after the Red Wings challenged for goaltender interference.
"I drew it up a million times in my head how I was going to get my first NHL goal since I was young," Ratcliffe said. "I don't think any of the times I drew it up, it was going to go off my pants and in, but I'll take what I can get."

DET@PHI: Ratcliffe scores goal in 1st

Raymond made it 2-1 at 6:02 when he gathered his own rebound and went forehand-to-backhand, but Sanheim's one-timer from the left circle tied it 2-2 at 6:26.
Suter gave Detroit a 3-2 lead from between the circles at 6:12 of the second period, and Fabbri extended it to 4-2 at 11:00.
Laughton pulled the Flyers within 4-3 at 11:21 when a deflected puck came to him at the left side of the net, but they couldn't get closer. Detroit held Philadelphia without a shot on goal for the first 7:20 of the third period. The Red Wings entered the game having allowed an NHL-high 66 goals in the third.
"I liked the fact that we really didn't give them much in the third," Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. "We've been in that position a lot and didn't really play the hockey we needed to play. ... I believe in taking steps in the right direction. I thought that third was a step in the right direction."
Givani Smith made it 5-3 on the rush at 8:46 of the third, and Vladislav Namestnikov scored into an empty net at 19:05 for the 6-3 final.

DET@PHI: Smith scores nice goal

It was the first game for each team since the break for the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend. Detroit played for the first time in a week; Philadelphia was coming off an eight-day break.
"We were playing some good hockey before the break," Laughton said. "Seemed like we were watching too much tonight and they were making plays around us and spending too much time in our [defensive] zone, and then you can't get out of the zone and have energy to go on offense. Definitely frustrating."
