The Washington Capitals defenseman is facing discipline for kneeing Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers.
The incident occurred at 13:23 of the third period of Capitals' 4-3 overtime win at Capital One Arena on Tuesday.
No penalty was called. Ehlers did not return and will miss at least the next three games, Jets coach Dave Lowry said Wednesday.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: kneeing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
