Mike "Doc" Emrick, the lead play-by-play announcer for NBC's NHL coverage, won the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Personality-Play-By-Play on Tuesday. It is Emrick's fourth time winning the award and third in a row.
Emrick received word from color analyst Eddie Olczyk that he won the award live on air during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Second Round series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals. He also won in 2011, 2014 and 2015.
