      Stafford suspended 1 game for high-sticking

      NEW YORK - Winnipeg Jets forward Drew Stafford has been suspended for one game, without pay, for high-sticking Colorado Avalanche defenseman Nick Holden during NHL game No. 785 in Denver on Saturday, Feb. 6, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
      The incident occurred at 15:15 of the second period. Stafford was assessed a double-minor penalty for high-sticking.

      Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Stafford will forfeit $23,387.10. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
