ANA@MIN: Ducks flash old school Mighty Ducks uniforms

The Anaheim Ducks proved once again that ducks fly together.

The Ducks revisited their roots by sporting District 5 jerseys from the movie "The Mighty Ducks" while entering Xcel Energy Center for their game against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.

Anaheim donned the jerseys worn by the Minnesota-based team from the 1992 Walt Disney movie. The Ducks, originally known simply as District 5 until Coach Gordon Bombay changed the team's likeness, used teamwork and the legendary Flying V to defeat the rival Hawks for the state championship.
The Ducks uniform choice coincides with
the new series
"The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers," which features Emilio Estevez reprising his role as Bombay along with many other characters from the original movie and drops on Disney+ on Friday.
Ty Ronning, a New York Rangers prospect, and his dad Cliff, a former NHL standout who played 1,137 games, also got to give the green threads a spin. Both were extras in the series.

Fans interested in purchasing their own District 5 Ducks jersey are in luck. The Ducks released a full line of District 5 merchandise, including hats, sweatshirts and the green jersey, on
the Anaheim Team Store website.
