The 18-year-old forward, who was selected by the Ducks in the first round (No. 27) of the 2020 NHL Draft on Oct. 6, led Sarnia of the Ontario Hockey League in goals (39, tied for 10th in league) and power-play goals (15, tied for fourth), and was second in points (70) in 57 games last season.
"I'm more than a one-dimensional player," Perreault told the Ducks website after he was drafted. "I have a good shot and can beat the goalie 1-on-1. I see the ice pretty well, I understand the game really well. It's really something I try to use to my advantage, whether it's to fake the goalie out with a fake shot and go across to my teammate for a goal, or if it's a one-timer on the power play. I can use my speed really well. I'm a really coachable player. I really want to get better. I'll take any advice I can get. I'm really excited to get things started."
The son of former NHL forward Yanic Perreault, Jacob was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team in 2018-19 when he scored 55 points (30 goals, 25 assists) in 63 games with Sarnia.
