NEW YORK - Winnipeg Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Washington Capitals forward Jay Beagle during NHL Game No. 873 in Winnipeg on Tuesday, Feb. 13, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 18:32 of the third period. Byfuglien was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.
