The Coyotes surprised the rookie forward with a special video message from his family during a team meeting that delivered the news he was staying with the team for the rest of the season.
"We just wanted to say that we love you and we are proud of you and everything you have accomplished so far," his mother said in the video posted by the Coyotes on Twitter.
"Congratulations buddy, you've made the NHL," his father followed up with in the video.
