Eddie Olczyk
is looking forward to his role as lead analyst for the NHL on Turner Sports next season.

Olczyk will call live games with play-by-play commentator Kenny Albert televised on TNT and TBS throughout the regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs. The NHL and Turner Sports announced a seven-year media rights agreement April 27.
"It will be a great challenge," Olczyk said on the latest episode of
"The Chirp with Daren Millard" podcast
, which is available on NHL.com and multiple iOS and Android podcast apps. "We're starting from scratch because Turner has no hockey background. But all I know is the way they do their business in the real world, the way they do their business for basketball and Major League Baseball], I think that we're going to fine."
Wayne Gretzky also reached a multiyear agreement to join Turner Sports as an NHL studio analyst.
"I'm not sure if 'Gretz' knows who I am," Olczyk said. "But you know what? Any team that I could be on and I'm on in there with '99' … To be on a team with The Great One, it is indeed tremendously tremendous."
Olczyk played 16 seasons in the NHL and won the Stanley Cup with the Rangers in 1994. He was an analyst for the Pittsburgh Penguins, ESPN, ESPN2 and NHL Radio before coaching the Penguins from 2003-05. He returned to broadcasting in 2006 as lead analyst for NBC Sports and the Chicago Blackhawks.
"I think just the initial contact, that was very impressive to me, and I'm not surprised because knowing people that work there, that have worked at Turner for a long, long time [you] know how they do their business," Olczyk said. "They're a very family- and very people-orientated corporation, and that meant a lot to my wife and my family. We I knew it was just a matter of time hoping that we can get it done, and we have. I know where I'm going to be for the next five years, so I'm very excited."
Olczyk and Millard also discuss how the Winnipeg Jets swept the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup First Round and adjustments the Oilers may have to make for the future. Olczyk also breaks down the three goalies for the Florida Panthers and why the Minnesota Wild are tough to play against.
