EDM@WPG: Draisaitl scores game-winner in final second

WINNIPEG -- Leon Draisaitl scored with less than one second remaining to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 win against the Winnipeg Jets at Bell MTS Place on Sunday.

Draisaitl snapped a shot from just outside the left hash marks off a pass from below the goal line by Connor McDavid.
"We got a nice fortunate one at the end," Draisaitl said.
It was the latest go-ahead goal in Oilers history.
"McDavid obviously had it, had full control. He passed out front," Jets goalie Laurent Brossoit said. "I didn't think [Draisaitl] could go five-hole considering [Andrew Copp] was on the ground. I was just trying to track any puck up high, and it went, obviously, under me."
Kailer Yamamoto tied the game 3-3 for Edmonton with 3:05 left after the Jets had taken the lead with two third-period goals.
"We were playing [poorly]," Oilers forward Kyle Turris said. "They played late last night, and they just jumped on us from the start. They were dominating the period, and we just played [poorly]. We knew we had to turn it around."

EDM@WPG: Yamamoto nets tying goal on the doorstep

McDavid had three assists, and Mikko Koskinen made 35 saves for Edmonton (3-4-0).
Nikolaj Ehlers scored a goal for the fourth straight game for Winnipeg (4-2-0), which had won three games in a row, all against the Ottawa Senators, including 6-3 on Saturday. Brossoit made 34 saves in his first game against his former team.
The Oilers and Jets will play again in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
Adam Lowry gave the Jets a 1-0 lead at 10:41 of the first period.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tied it 1-1 when he knocked in a loose puck on his backhand from the top of the crease 21 seconds into the second period.
Turris scored his first goal with the Oilers at 14:18 of the second period to make it 2-1.
"It felt great," Turris said. "I obviously haven't been contributing as much as I'd like, and I have to turn around and get going here. It was a great pass by [Zack Kassian] coming in the middle and feeding me on the right wing, and I just tried to get a shot off and bury it."

Ehlers tied it 2-2 at 13:54 of the third period, and Blake Wheeler gave the Jets a 3-2 lead with a power-play goal at 15:07.
"Our special teams, they're not what they need to be right now, but we're getting some bad bounces," Edmonton coach Dave Tippett said. "Our penalty kill, we've had a couple bounce off of people's skates and into the net. It's frustrating … but maybe the luck is turning, the way the game ended."
Copp scored at 13:28 of the first period, but the goal was waved off after Tippett successfully challenged for goaltender interference by Copp.
