NASHVILLE-- Eeli Tolvanen was on the ice Monday for the first day of Nashville Predators development camp after being selected in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft in Chicago on Friday.
The Predators took Tolvanen with the 30th pick after he had 54 points (30 goals, 24 assists) in 52 games for Sioux City of the United States Hockey League this season.
"It's been kind of crazy," the 18-year-old forward said. "I was in Chicago with family. I got drafted on Friday and spent Saturday with my family in Chicago, and then I flew here Sunday morning. Now we're just starting camp, and it's hard work. The first day, it's not easy. It was the first time skating in four weeks."
