Evan Rodrigues BUF

Evan Rodrigues was awarded a one-year, $2 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres by an independent arbitrator Thursday.

The forward, who turns 26 on Sunday and was a restricted free agent, had a salary arbitration hearing in Toronto on Tuesday.
Rodrigues had NHL career highs in goals (nine), assists (20), points (29) and games played (74) with the Sabres last season.

Signed by Buffalo as an undrafted free agent out of Boston University on April 22, 2015, Rodrigues has 62 points (21 goals, 41 assists) in 154 NHL games.
