NEW YORK -- Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Calgary Flames forward Dryden Hunt during NHL Game No. 1226 in Calgary on Saturday, April 6, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 3:46 of the second period. Kane was assessed a minor penalty for slashing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
