Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin won't return to game action this week, coach Mike Sullivan said Tuesday.
Malkin, who has missed the past three games with a lingering lower-body injury, will work with the Penguins training and medical staff.

The Penguins host the New York Rangers on Wednesday and the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, and then are off until Monday.
At the time of his injury, Malkin led the Penguins with 23 goals and 49 points. In his absence, center Sidney Crosby has gone on a tear, scoring four goals and eight points in three games. Crosby has 12 goals and 10 assists during an 11-game point streak and now leads the Penguins with 24 goals and 53 points.
